I am pleased to share that College of the Redwoods Librarians Stephanie Dolph, Lynn Durkee, and Susan Gehr and Cal Poly Humboldt librarian Janet Calderon were selected to present at the virtual California Conference on Library Instruction on Friday May 13, 2022. Their presentation, entitled “Envisioning Library Instruction for Incarcerated Community College Students,” walked the audience of more than 60 people through their two semester long journey to provide correspondence-based library instruction for the students of the Pelican Bay Scholars Program. They were the only local librarians presenting “lightning” talks at the conference, with other presenters from Bakersfield College, East Los Angeles College, and School of the Art Institute of Chicago, the Fisher Fine Arts Library at the University of Pennsylvania, UCLA and UC Irvine.
