A press release was disseminated to local news agencies today announcing the launch of our new OneREG registration process that will allow students to register for an entire academic year.  This innovative process represents our institutional commitment to provide greater support to our students.  OneREG, and many of our other new enrollment management initiatives, also reflects our institutional courage to take calculated risks and challenge the status quo so CR doesn’t stagnate or become competitively irrelevant.

Commendation for Ron Waters

Ron Waters received a letter of commendation from Eureka Police Chief Andrew Mills recently for his work on developing a new concentrated training plan to help local law enforcement departments maintain their Perishable Skills (PSP) and Continuing Professional Training (CPT) compliance.  Thanks to Ron’s inventive training system, approximately 95% of the Eureka Police Department’s sworn personnel have already been able to complete their entire PSP/CPT requirement for the current two-year training cycle.  According to Chief Mills, “Ron’s service has been greatly appreciated not only by myself, but also by the other members of the Law Enforcement Chief’s Association of Humboldt (LECAH).”

We should all thank Ron for his vision and dedication to College of the Redwoods and the community.  Thanks Ron!

Board approves New Science Lab for Del Norte
The project will provide a state-of-the-art teaching wet laboratory for Biology, Chemistry, Nursing, Anatomy and Physiology as well as a dry lab to support our Geology curriculum at the Center. Additionally, the project will provide more accessible pathways, a new emergency backup generator, and better fire lanes.
