About Dental Assisting

The increasing sophistication of dental treatment and infection control procedures is changing the role of the Dental Assistant. Graduates of the program qualify to take the Dental Board of California written and practical examination for state licensure as a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) and the Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) written examination.

Our program is accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation of the American Dental Association and approved by the Dental Board of California. Graduates are prepared for employment.  Students acquire hands-on experience in laboratory, clinical laboratory, and internship experiences.

College of the Redwoods Dental Assisting Program is proud to have high pass rates for the State and national exams as well as a high employment rate for our graduates.  We work with our local dental community to assist our graduates in gaining employment.
