A career inventory is a questionnaire that can help you discover new career possibilities which are compatible with your interests, aptitudes, and employment needs. Use any Internet accessible computer -- at home, the library, or the Career Center - to take the following career inventories:

  • Career or major finder: Career Cafe. Assess your interests and find careers and majors that match. Print a summary to take to your career counselor for further discussion.
  • Keirsey Termperament & Character Web Site: www.keirsey.com/
Determine your temperament type and how it will affect your career satisfaction.
  • Riso-Hudson Enneagram Type Indicator and The New Enneagram Test:www.9types.com/
Again, not specifically a career test, but suggests a basic personality orientation for each of us, which can be viewed in relation to career possibilities. You may explore careers which seem compatible with your basic "enneagram" type.

Remember: The best way to use your results to a career inventory is to follow-up by gathering information about occupations. Use any one of the "Occupational Exploration" links on this page to explore careers compatible with your results.

Two of the larger AmeriCorps programs in Humboldt County are organized by local community organizations: the Redwood Community Action Agency, working with youth and building healthy communities on the North Coast; and natural resources conservation programs through the Watershed Stewards projects.
