College of the Redwoods will hold its 120th Basic Law Enforcement Academy graduation on Thursday, December 14 at 1 p.m. in the CR Theater on the Eureka main campus.

Twenty-two cadets will participate in this class ceremony. Of those graduating, nine have been hired by various law enforcement departments and several others are in different stages of the selection processes, some with multiple agencies.

The 120th class started in June. “The cadets have worked hard to achieve a solid foundation of law enforcement education and experience and are excited to start their service in law enforcement,” said CR Basic Law Enforcement Academy Coordinator Sandi Petersen.

The 121st CR Basic Law Enforcement Academy starts Monday, January 8th, 2018 and has 34 cadets, including 12 from sponsoring agencies. Anyone interested in attending a future Academy should go to the Basic Academy website at https://www.redwoods.edu/aj/blea and click on “Frequently Asked Questions.”  Any additional questions can be answered by calling the Training Center office at 707-476-4334.

Representing CR at the graduation will be President/Superintendent Dr. Keith Snow-Flamer; members of the Board of Trustees, Director Ron Waters, along with Academy Coordinator Sandi Petersen.
