Letter to the Southern Humboldt Community Regarding Our Garberville Site

There's been significant discussion about the Board's decision to entertain offers to sell our Garberville site. I submitted a letter to a few of the Southern Humboldt news outlets (KMUD, Redwoods Times, and Humboldt Independent) that speaks to the decision to entertain offers for our Garberville site and explains the surplus/sale process as outlined in Education and Government Code.  It's important that the community know the rationale behind the decision and the process we'll use moving forward.

Update Following June 6, 2017 Board of Trustees Meeting

I want to provide a brief summary of yesterday's Board of Trustees meeting for those of you were not able to attend in person or see it via the web stream.

The Board of Trustees held its May 2nd board meeting on the Del Norte campus.  I want to thank all the Del Norte faculty and staff for hosting the Trustees and the Eureka based administrators.  I felt that the meeting was productive, engaging, and encouraging.  Here are a few highlights.

Food Forest on our Del Norte Campus

Food Forest on our Del Norte Campus
Professor Christopher Callahan and his Environmental Science class started planting the first trees in the new Food Forest on our Del Norte campus!

Celebrating the Week of the Young Child

The CDC celebrated Week of the Young Child on today with a Pinwheel Parade on the Eureka campus. Please stop by and see the pinwheels and student slogans as the wind brings spring and summer to our campus and community.
Great job Professor Darius Kalvaitis, Wendy Jones and the CDC staff!
