We held our strategic visioning session at the Del Norte campus for faculty, staff and community members today.  The participants identified challenges that may impact the Del Norte community ten years from now.  We also discussed how CR can work with the community to meet those major challenges.

I’ve had the opportunity to visit with, and read messages from, several staff and students after the November 8^th election.  It will take some time to really grasp the full implications of a President Trump administration.  It is imperative, in the aftermath of a highly fractious election, that we continue to embrace our most important obligation as a college community.

 

Veterans Day is approaching this coming Friday, November 11^th.  I want to add my voice to the thousands of voices honoring our veterans on this Veterans Day. 

CR was selected by the Institutional Effectiveness Partnership Initiative (IEPI) to receive $50,000 to create a ten-day leadership development program for managers and administrators.

I want to share some of the highlights of the November 1st Board of Trustees meeting.

College of the Redwoods contracted with Mary Gelinas, Ed.D. and Roger James, Ed.D., principals for Gelinas James, Inc., to work with the Board of Trustees on developing a long term vision for College of the Redwoods.

We were honored to host Senator Mike McGuire on October 14 on the Eureka campus!

This year we were able to forward a balanced 2016-17 Final Budget to the Board of Trustees for approval.  We wouldn’t have been able to do so if not for the resourceful and determined work of our dedicated faculty, staff, managers, confidential staff and administrators.
