Are All World Maps Incorrect? Geomatics will offer two activities! First, we will use Avenza to teach folks how to navigate campus with georeferenced maps. We will have prizes set up across campus and folks will navigate to find the 'geocached' prizes! Next we will take a look at a 3D visual of the world, and examine how we can flatten it onto a 2D surface. We will discuss if this is mathematically possible, and what the implications are when flattening a globe.  AT-127
Astronomy Learn about planets, gravity, stars, and telescopes. AT-106
Balloon Powered Race Cars! Unleash your inner engineer and get ready for some high-octane fun! In this exciting hands-on activity, you'll build and race your very own balloon-powered car. Using simple materials like wood, straws, wheels, and of course, balloons, you'll learn about the fascinating principles of propulsion and aerodynamics in a fun and engaging way. AT-129
BeLEAF it or Not-Forestry & Geomatics Explore tree cones and leaves, maps, and ATVs. Visit stations to learn about the science behind forests. "I can have a job where I spend the day hiking in the trees with my dog?" BeLeaf it or not! AT-127
Bubble fun Join us for bubble fun in an outdoor experience.  SC/HU Quad
Calling all Cybersecurity Sleuths - Catch That Thief! Use cybersecurity techniques to uncover hackers' tracks and break their secret codes. HU-214
Chemistry Magic Show Chemistry demonstrations that seem like magic! Theatre (5:30 pm, 6:30 pm, 7:30 pm)
Chess and Other Cerebral Challenges Test your chess wits on chess puzzles and against each other. Learn the game of Go, the oldest and most challenging board game. Fin-Tastic Prints: Exploring Fish Through Gyotaku Art Come get creative and a little messy with us as we dive into the art (and science!) of fish printing. Using a traditional Japanese technique called Gyotaku, you'll make your own fish print using real fish or molds — and yes, you get to take it home! While your masterpiece dries, stick around to check out what’s inside a fish. We’ll have real specimens to explore their anatomy and scales up close. It’s a hands-on, fun-for-everyone activity where science meets art — perfect for curious minds of all ages. HU-125A
Fire Fighting Hydraulics and Behavior Attendees will learn how a fire pump operates in delivering water for fire suppression Pavement between LRC and Access Humboldt
Fun with Lego Engineering & 4H Help build a Lego City and a Lego Farm, while learning about the 4-H program In Humboldt County. Fun for all ages. SC-206
