College of the Redwoods (CR) holds accreditation from the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC) of the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). The ACCJC is an institutional accrediting body recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation and the U.S. Department of Education. Additional information about accreditation, including the filing of complaints against member institutions, can be found at www.accjc.org.

The ACCJC reaffirmed CR's accreditation on January 21, 2025. Reaffirmation of CR's accreditation occurs every seven to eight years, and we have completed the 2024 accreditation process.

CR offers various programs accredited by external agencies beyond ACCJC. Details about program accreditation, licensure, or approval can be found on the Program Accreditation Website. Moreover, designated lower-division, baccalaureate-level courses at CR are approved for transfer to all branches of the University of California (UC) and all California State Universities (CSU). CR is also approved for veteran education under public law. This website serves to inform our community about CR's accreditation status, activities, and general information about accreditation standards and processes.
