Student Career Resources

The process of finding a career may seem overwhelming.  Sometimes it helps to think of the process as you would a river.  The river continues to flow constantly in the same direction (towards your career) but along the way, currents or obstacles may arise (your environment) that temporarily steer you in a different way allowing you to explore even more of the breadth of the river.  You may even spend time in an eddy circling around, observing and learning. All this time you are still flowing towards your goal.  
 
The more you get to know and understand the journey through self-reflection, self-clarity, visioning, goal setting, planning, implementing and adapting, the better you can flow on your chosen career path. 
 
Below are some tools to help you begin, and or navigate this journey.  The stages of Career Development according to Niles, Amundson, and Neault (2011) center around HOPE.

It is the unending knowing that this journey will have ebbs and flows dictated by your current environment, but that you will continue flowing and growing, listening to the hope inside that guides you to find your place in the career world!
