All In for the Team: Paige Rodgers’ CR Soccer Story

Published on Oct 16 2025

For Paige Rodgers, soccer wasn’t the first sport she tried—but it’s the one that stuck. Thanks to parents who encouraged her to explore every sport, Paige discovered a passion on the field that has carried through years of club play, high school competition, and now, at College of the Redwoods. Playing both midfield and forward, she most recently helped Eureka High School capture four NCS titles.

“I chose to play soccer at CR because I believe there is so much talent here that just hasn’t gotten the right exposure,” Paige says. “With coaches Juan Perez and Joe Okeefe, we’ve grown so much as a team in a short time, and I know the rewards will come.”

Balancing practice, classes, studying, and the weight room keeps Paige busy, but the commitment is worth it. “Knowing I have a team who needs me keeps me motivated on hard days,” she explains. “There’s no ‘I’ in team.” Some of her fondest memories? The van rides to and from away games, where even tough losses couldn’t dampen the team’s spirit.

Coaches and teammates push Paige to be her best. “My coaches help me get back to the level I know I can be at, and my teammates motivate me just by working hard themselves,” she says. Her personal goal for the season is: give her all on the field, every game.

Looking ahead, Paige hopes to continue playing soccer at a four-year college while pursuing a degree in chemistry. Her advice to future student-athletes: prioritize academics, build strong relationships with teammates and coaches, and always show respect and effort, both on the field and in the classroom.

“When people look back at my time at CR,” Paige adds, “I hope they remember me as someone who tried hard no matter what and treated everyone with respect.”
