The North Coast Paramedic Program builds on the knowledge and skills gained as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). The program provides comprehensive study of pre-hospital emergency care that meets State of California requirements for a Paramedic license and prepares students to sit for the National Registry paramedic exam.
The 33-unit program, only available to people who already are EMT-1 certified, and have submitted an application to the Health Occupations Office, will run fall/spring semesters with a summer/fall internship. For the convenience of those who are working full-time, the class for fall and spring semesters will be held on Fridays from 2 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 4:30p.m.
The Paramedic Program is intended as a structured course of study that cannot be divided into separate component parts. Therefore, no advanced placement, credit for experiential learning, or transfer credit is available.
